Open a door
Of a roomed room.
Go walk ‘inside’:
Shelves have been propped upon floorboards,
Books have been propped upon the shelves.
Beneath the light,
Read each title:
“This is for me.”

Smear off the dust
Which dance midair
And glint each spin
(They look as if they are blinking
They look as if they are clapping)
Under the light
Spotting me move
By move by move.

Those webs above
(Spiders on top)
Drooling their silk–
With each wind my body does make,
They blow with me and stick to me–,
They glint as well,
Not like the eyes,
But like fingers.

Dark. Vision won’t
adjust. There’s the
light where my bo
dy should be. This library has
no book for me. Each gasp panics
the dust. The webs
hook me, the spi
ders on my skin

Light on my head.
Walk to the shelf.
Close my own book:
“By my troth, I do stay with thee!”
A bow before I turn to leave.
The dust do clap.
The spiders weave.

Words Like Water

Words like water, falling like rain,
seep within the cracks, deep within the roof
hanging over my head sitting over my hands.
The drizzle of the waterlogged roof
louder than
the downpour of the outside,
but softer than
the drops ringing through my skull.

Words like water, freezing like ice,
seep within the gaps, deep within the foundations
faulting below my feet limping below my head.
The concrete wedged open by ice
just like
the ceiling pried away by rain,
and not unlike
the chasm torn through my head.

Words like water, burning like venom,
seep within the skin, deep within the veins
leading to my heart that pumped to my brain.
But in my flooded home
frozen by
the fury of this blizzard
set ablaze by
the fangs of those thousand jaws,

I saw a garden through the hole in my head.

Pan-Dayirese Usage of Pentadecimal Numeral System

And what remains has lost its shine:
Those diamond souls from a brighter time
That shattered before they were mine(d)
And faded away beyond my eyes.
With a year they came—
In a day they’re gone—
It doubts if years do matter anyway
In stopping them from turning away,
Leaving a polished friendship to decay
And me, only their stranger once again.

It doubts if those years had even occurred,
Unturning the stones that we had turned;
It leaves me alone in bed disturbed
That all I’ve said had never been heard.
And now I realize—
But after so long—
That diamond souls from a brighter time
Have made me no richer in my life
If a year was what we needed to unite
And a day was all it took to divide.
