Some of yesterday’s primaries were the end of a story, and some were a new beginning. While I think there are a lot of interesting things to talk about (some of which I intend to write about in the future), I think for now, it’s important to just get the data out there in a form that’s actually presentable because, in my honorable opinion, our legacy media organizations here in Oklahoma are seriously lacking on the presenting-election-data front.
That’s why, today, I want to give the power to you, the people, to understand what happened last night and what we learned. Introducing: OK26 - your home for the election season!
On this online app, you can visualize every statewide election that happened last night on a precinct-by-precinct basis. You can see which candidates performed best where and visualize trends across multiple axes. Below, I have included some screenshots to demonstrate the product:
In addition to all the wonderful mapping features, you can also see brief commentary from myself on all the elections that I have something to say about.
So check it out! Really! It’s great!
And, if you really just want more takes on what happened last night…I’m working on it. I just thought this was cooler. And more important.
